Unstaking
Two ways to turn LOXETH back into ETH, and how long each one actually takes.
The two routes
| Swap | Withdraw | |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Immediate | Governance-set delay |
| Rate | Market price — can be above or below | Contract rate, exactly |
| Cost | Swap fee + gas | Gas only |
| Ceiling | Whatever the pool holds | Unstake queue capacity |
Which one to use
If you need the ETH now and the market rate is close to the contract rate, swap. If the market is trading below the contract rate, withdraw — you will wait, but you will not sell at a discount.
The queue
Withdrawals are served in order. How long you wait depends on two things: how much is queued ahead of you, and whether an operator is deactivating in the same period. Both are shown in the interface before you commit, and neither can be changed by LOXLEY after the fact.
What can go wrong
- Rate moves while you wait. The contract rate at the moment your withdrawal is served is the rate you get, not the one shown when you queued.
- Swap slippage. A large swap against a thin pool gives a worse rate than quoted.
- A deactivating operator. Stake that is mid-deactivation is not available until the period ends, which lengthens everyone's queue.
